Thank you to all the venues that supported this event in 2019.
Charity Swim Gala
Our latest annual Charity Swim will be held on Sunday 19th May 2019 at Ynysawdre Swimming pool
Teams of local charities raised funds for themselves at a cost of £50 entrance fee. For further information and to enter a team in 2019 please use our contact page.
We are able to put on this event which enables other groups to raise funds for themselves as a result of some very generous sponsors (details on our Swim page) - we thank them all for their support.
We attend numerous fetes and fundays throughout the Bridgend area from June to September with our fun stalls.
If you are holding an event in 2019 and would like us to attend please contact us.

Our annual Book Fair was held from 12-14 April 2019 at Westward Community Centre, Cefn Glas, Bridgend. Click on the link for directions.
New for 2019 - We had the facility to accept payments by Chip & Pin and Contactless Debit and Credit card.
There were thousands of good quality books including fiction, non-fiction and children's, all at unbelievable prices.
We also had an excellent supply of jigsaws.
Collections of books have now stopped until October 2019
Click here for collection and delivery arrangements.
Please do not deliver books to the Westward Community Centre as the other users of the centre have no involvement with our Book Fairs and left books causes inconvenience and a safety hazard to them.

We once again helped Santa in his Grotto at Carnegie House (the old library) Wyndham Street, Bridgend on Saturdays 24th November and 1st, 8th and 15th December 2018.
A visit to see Santa cost £6.00 for which children received a quality gift and their family could take their own photographs. On-line bookings were very popular in 2018 and we will continue with that in 2019.
We would also like to thank everyone who supported our Luxury Christmas Hamper Raffle, kindly sponsored by Sainsbury's. This was the first time we've sold tickets off-site and we are most grateful for the generous help given by Bridgend Town Council and The Pheasant. In total over £720 was raised for local good causes and charities
In the picture with Santa is Natalie Murphy (senior raffle elf) and Lion President Tony Gates.
The winner (ticket no. 911) was Ms Williams of Gilfach Goch who was delighted with her prize.
Santa said he enjoyed meeting over 400 wonderful children in his Grotto in Carnegie House and will definitely be back in 2019!
The grotto also included free crafts and colouring for children while they waited and craft stalls (see below) and tombolas were also available.
Tree of Light
During December we held a Tree of Light outside St Mary's Church where anyone may sponsor a light for £5 in memory of a loved one or a special cause at Christmas.
The sponsor form can be downloaded for 2019 nearer the date
There was a short dedication of the tree in the foyer of St Mary's Church on the 3rd December including carols sung by St Mary's school choir.
On the 20th October 2018 we held a one day book sale at the Westward Community Centre from 10am to 4pm. All books were sold at half of the price they were on sale at our Book Fair last April to make way for new stock.
