Forthcoming Events
Tree of Light
During December we will hold a Tree of Light at St Mary's Church where anyone may sponsor a light for £5 in memory of a loved one or a special cause at Christmas. This year the tree will be displayed inside the Church foyer.
The sponsor form for 2020 can be downloaded here
We also now have a Just Giving page to enable you to sponsor on-line - click here

There will be a short dedication of the tree in the foyer of St Mary's Church on December 7th at 6:30pm. This year we will not invite people to attend, but we will have the service available to view online.
As a consequence of the current situation we have made the decision to postpone our other upcoming events for the safety of both our members and the general public. We hope to re-arrange these events next year.
Book Fair (Postponed)

Our annual Book Fair will be held from Friday the 3rd to Sunday the 5th April at Westward Community Centre, Cefn Glas, Bridgend. Click on the link for directions.

There will be thousands of good quality books including fiction, non-fiction and children's, all at unbelievable prices.
We will also have an excellent supply of jigsaws.
Books Wanted
PLEASE NOTE that we have stopped collecting books and accepting deliveries as our stores are full. We hope to take in donations again once we are able to hold a Book Fair.
Thank you to everyone who has donated books.
Click here for collection and delivery arrangements.
Please do not deliver books to the Westward Community Centre apart from Sunday mornings as the other users of the centre have no involvement with our Book Fairs and left books causes inconvenience and a safety hazard to them.

We are able to put on this event which enables other groups to raise funds for themselves as a result of some very generous sponsors (details on our Swim page) - we thank them all for their support.

Recent Events
Santa's Grotto - This has had to be cancelled for 2020, but we hope to be back in 2021.

We helped Santa in his Grotto at Carnegie House (the old library) Wyndham Street, Bridgend on Saturdays 23rd and 30th November and 7th and 14th December 2019.

A visit to see Santa cost £6.00 for which children received a quality gift and their family could take their own photographs. On-line bookings were very popular and we will continue with that in 2020.
We also took payments on the day (subject to availability) by cash or chip & pin or Contactless card.
The grotto also included free crafts and colouring for children while they wait and craft stalls (see below) and tombolas were also available.

Book Sale

On the 19th October 2019 we held a one day book sale at the Westward Community Centre from 10am to 4pm. All books were sold at half of the price they were on sale at our Book Fair last April to make way for new stock.
Our sale in October 2020 had to be cancelled due to the covid restrictiond.
