Please do not deliver books to the Westward Community Centre apart from Sunday mornings as the other users of the centre have no involvement with our Book Fairs and left books causes inconvenience and a safety hazard to them.
Please note that we are no longer accepting DVDs and CDs
Charity Swim Gala
We hope to start holding our Charity Swim in 2022 at Ynysawdre Swimming pool. Details will follow if we are able to hold the event.

Teams of local charities raise funds for themselves at a cost of £50 entrance fee. For further information and to enter a team in 2022 please use our contact page.
We are able to put on this event which enables other groups to raise funds for themselves as a result of some very generous sponsors (details on our Swim page) - we thank them all for their support.
Stalls
We attend numerous fetes and fundays throughout the Bridgend area from June to September with our fun stalls.

Like most events, all occasions where we could site our stalls have been canceled over the last 2 years.
We hope that in 2022 things will start to get back to normal, so if you are holding an event in 2022 and would like us to attend please contact us.
Spectacle and Hearing Aid collections
Thank you everyone who is donating used hearing aids and spectacles.
Our collection bins (below) are now sited at various venues in and around Bridgend. For details of where you can deliver your donations see our spectacle and Hearing Aid pages.

Tree of Light
During December we held a Tree of Light at St Mary's Church where anyone could sponsor a light for £5 in memory of a loved one or a special cause at Christmas. The tree was be displayed inside the Church foyer.
We also had a Just Giving page to enable you to sponsor on-line - click here

There was a short dedication of the tree in the foyer of St Mary's Church on the 29th November at 6:30 pm. Due to Covid precautions this was not be open to the public, but was made available on you tube.
Santa's Grotto
This had to be cancelled again in 2021, but we hope to be back in 2022. However there was an opportunity to talk to Santa and take a photograph in the Indoor Market on the 11th & 18th December 2021.

We helped Santa in his Grotto at Carnegie House (the old library) Wyndham Street, Bridgend on Saturdays 23rd and 30th November and 7th and 14th December 2019.

A visit to see Santa cost £6.00 for which children received a quality gift and their family could take their own photographs. On-line bookings were very popular and we will continue with that in 2020.
We also took payments on the day (subject to availability) by cash or chip & pin or Contactless card.
The grotto also included free crafts and colouring for children while they wait and craft stalls (see below) and tombolas were also available.

Our sale in October 2020 had to be cancelled due to the Covid restrictions.
